Corpus, Figure, Skate (2008)

Corpus, Figure, Skate is an installation of videos and sculptural objects that investigates the subconscious desire to reunite physicality with the body despite attempts to repress it. The roller-skate is used as a symbol for the denied physicality of the body and loss of emotional expression and is contrasted by images of meat and pleated lead dresses on the body worn. The sculptures, referencing hospital furniture are also draped in pleated lead.
